StockCrowd Forms are highly versatile allowing you to adapt the form to your needs and collect the data which you require.

We can use Forms for sign-ups, one-off donations, and recurring donations.

When creating a Form with StockCrowd, you can create a page for the Donation Box to live in, with a background image, title, and short description, as in the example below:

Alternatively, you can just take the Donation Box and embed it into your own website either directly or as a pop-up (modal) which appears when they click on a call to action button on your page.

In this article, we will walk you through a Step by Step guide to creating your form, regardless of how you choose to use it.

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Your Campaign

1. Create your Campaign

From the BackOffice homepage, from Dashboard > Home, click on "Create Campaign" under the New Form option.

Once you have chosen the type of campaign, fill in the basic details of your Campaign:

  • Title: This field refers to the title of your Campaign.

👉 Remember that you can edit the title at any time in the General Data tab.

  • Currency: Choose the base currency.
If you need to make a Multi-currency Campaign, first complete all the steps to make your campaign with the base currency, then check out our article on Clusters which will give you information on how to create a Multi-currency Campaign.

  • Country: This country refers to the country from which donation certificates will be emitted.
In the event that you are not issuing donation certificates, you will need to choose a country anyway.

  • Base language: Select a base language. In the case that your Campaign needs to be multi-lingual, we will show you how to add translations at a later stage.

Once you have filled in the basic campaign data, you will access the General Information area (Content > General Configuration).

In the case that you would like to build a page for your Donation Box to live on continue to Step 2, in the case you just want to build the donation box itself skip to Step 5.

2. General Configuration: Title and Description

In the General Information section we can do the following:

  • Edit the title, country, and base language which you previously entered.

  • Add a short description to let your donors know more about your campaign.

  • Customise the colour for the text of the title and description.

2.1. Adding Translations

If your form is going to be multi-language, you can add more languages by clicking on the flag symbol that will appear within certain fields, as you build your form.

To do this, click on the flag, select the language, and add the translation.

3. Previewing your Campaign

As you create your form, you can preview your changes. We can access this in two ways:

a) Clicking the eye icon in the upper left corner of the BackOffice.

b) Selecting "Campaign Templates" from the Content Menu.

Both of these options will take you to the same page.

Forms have just one template option. Click on "My Campaign" and you will be able to view how your campaign will look on both desktop and mobile.

💡 We recommend that you keep this page open in a tab until you finish creating your campaign, refreshing the page to view the changes.

4. Header and Footer

Go to "Header and Footer" which you will find under the Content Menu.

4.1. Add your Campaign Logo

In the Header tab we can customize our form a little more, adding a campaign or organization logo and a background image and/or video.

Upload the logo that will appear in the upper left corner of your campaign by selecting the "Logo" option and then uploading your image by clicking on the Edit icon.

👉 If you have added your logo to your Company data then this logo will be shown by default, however, can be overwritten by uploading a logo here.

Or use the Logo scroll option in case you want to see a different logo when scrolling through the page.

❗️Please keep in mind that the logo must have a maximum height of 60px.

4.2. Add a Cover Video to your campaign:

This is one of the most important elements of your campaign. The video or image(s) selected should tell a story related to your cause or project.

Once you have selected the option, you need to enter the URL of the video you wish to add from YouTube, and click on "Add video"

❗️Keep in mind the following points when selecting your video and/or image:

  • Videos must be hosted on Youtube and can be added by entering the video URL

  • Videos will play without sound and only work on desktop devices, as such we recommend adding images for mobile viewers.

💡 For more information about adding YouTube videos to your campaign, please check our Knowledge Base article HERE

4.3. Add an Image or a Slideshow to your campaign

By selecting "Image or Slideshow", you can upload one or more images for your header.

👉 Please keep in mind that the images added in this section will be used in your social network settings.

To know more about your Social Networks please check our article.

Once the element is selected, you can select your image(s) by clicking on "Browse"

In the case you add multiple images they will be displayed as a slideshow changing every few seconds.

Once they are added, you can also decide on the alignment of the Donation Box

(a) In line.

In this layout, the title and description will be positioned on the left side of the screen, while the Donation Box will be placed on the right side.

(b) In block.

Here, the three elements (title, description, and Donation Box) are situated in a stack on the left side of the screen.

Use the Mobile images option if you want to add different images for the mobile header:

4.4. Edit the Footer

Under the Footer tab, you can:

  1. Select the colour of the footer.

  2. Select whether or not you wish to show your contact information in the footer.

👉 By default, the contact information and logo shown in the header and footer will come from the information which was added when your organisation signed up to StockCrowd. You can review this information by going to Company > Register Data in the Back office.

In the case, you wish to have different contact information for this particular campaign you can edit this from within your campaign under Organisation info.

In the footer, you will find the link to the Legal Notice and Cookies policy to edit these legal documents for all your campaigns follow the instructions here.

5. Donation Box

To edit the Donation box go to Settings > Donation Box:

In the donation box settings you will find 5 tabs:

5.1. Customise

Here we can change the colour of the Donation Box and change and add texts which appear on the form such as the Donation button.

You can also modify the text in the payment section, this text is going to appear before the quantity.

5.2. Data

Under the Data tab, we can define the type of form we want to create for example if it is for recurring or one-off donations or simple for registrations.

Furthermore, in this same tab, we can define the type of data we want to collect from our donors.

By default, the form requests the following basic information:

By selecting the extended registration you will be adding the following fields to the form, you can select if these additional fields will be obligatory or not.

❗️ Remember that in order to claim GiftAid in the UK it is necessary to have the donors' full name and address.

We can create forms for individuals (natural persons), companies (legal entities), or both.

Finally, we have some extra options to allow us to ask donors if their donations come from an event or if they are interested in volunteering.

We recommend reading through all the customisation options carefully to ensure that the form meets your needs.

It is also possible to add custom and conditional fields to your Donation Box, for further information take a look at our article here.

5.3. Payments

In the Payments tab, we can define the suggested donation values, as such this section can be skipped if your form is being used only for sign-ups.

First, we can choose whether or not we allow the user to choose the amount and frequency of the payment.

In the case that we allow donors to select the amount and/or frequency, we can customise the suggested donation amounts and frequencies.

Finally, we can add a short description and icon to let donors know the potential impact of their donation.

❗️Remember to add the translations of the descriptions by clicking on the flag symbol if your campaign should be available in more than one language.

We can also select the amount which will be selected by default when the form is viewed.

5.4. Gratitude

From here we can customise our thank you message that appears after the payment is made.

We can upload an image, add text and add a Call to Action.

5.5. Integration

Now that you have configured your Donation Box if you want to integrate it into your own website you have the code available to do this on this tab.

Please, bear in mind that the campaign must be active to use these codes.

6. Payment Methods setup

In the case of Starter and Scale users, the default Payment Gateway is StockCrowd PAY, you will need to have completed the registration process for this in order to activate your campaign and start receiving donations.

Once StockCrowdPAY is set up, you will find under Setting > Payment Methods the possibility to activate different payment methods for one-off and recurring donations respectively.

For further information see this article here.

Premium users must configure their payment gateway of choice for each campaign you can do this under Settings > Payment Gateway. For more information click here.

7. Social Networks (optional)

Under Social Networks we can set our social media share buttons allowing your donors to share your campaign on Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.

Here you can configure the Title and Text which you wish to appear when they share your campaign.

For more information see the article here.

8. Tracking Codes (optional)

Under Tracking Codes, we can add either a Google Tag Manager or Analytics code to find out more about the behaviour of visitors to our campaign.
