Embedding options
After you finish the setup of your Campaign, how do you want to display it on your website?
Do you want the Donation Box to open as a pop-up, to have it always visible at a certain point on your page, or display the whole campaign as a full-page landing?
In this article, we will explain all the options available, and how to do it for your Campaign.
To find all Embedding options, please choose a Campaign. Then access the Settings > Donation Box section, and choose the Integration tab.
❗️ Please keep in mind that all embedding options require implementation from someone who manages your website, preferably with technical knowledge.
❗️❗️ You must copy the snippet using your common copy/paste keyboard commands (Cmd + C for MAC devices, Ctrl + C for other devices ).
Paste it (Cmd + V for MAC devices, Ctrl + V for other devices ) and send it to the person who manages your website.
Embed only the Donation Box
Modal Style (pop-up)
It is possible to create a pop-up modal with the Donation box.
Within the Integration tab, choose the option Modal Style. This option allows you to create a button with a CTA to open the form as a modal.
❗️ The CTA button that opens the Modal comes with a text by default ("Pagar Ahora!"). We currently have no option to customise this CTA button in our Software, but you can customise this text when you copy and paste it into your container site.
When the user clicks the CTA button, the donation form will load as a pop-up:
Embedded Style
If you prefer to embed the Donation Box directly into your website (without the button), you must choose the option Embedded Style in the same Integration tab.
In this case, the donation form will be visible right away in the part of your website where you have embedded it:
Embed the HTML as a full-page Campaign
⭐️ You can find more information about our Hosting options in this article.
In Scale and Premium plans we have the option to download the HTML file and upload it to your servers.
This is ideal if you want to have your Stockcrowd Campaign hosted in your very own domain.
For this, you need:
A domain or a domain name, ie: www.mydonation.com
A contracted web hosting or hosting service.
Once you have both your domain and hosting service ready, you need to upload the HTML file to the server where you host your website.
You can also download the HTML file whenever you see your Campaign Templates.
How to upload the HTML File into your server (example)
❗️These are examples, produced at the time this article was created. The process to upload HTML files may differ from case to case, and Stockcrowd's Support team can't walk you through this setup.
You have different methods to upload the HTML of your campaign, which effectively do the same thing: allow you to upload the HTML file to the hosting service so that it can be displayed on your website.
The most common methods are:
Upload HTML file with Dreamweaver.
Upload HTML file using an FTP program.
Use the host administration panel to upload the files.
In this example we will focus on the third option, using the host administration panel to upload the HTML files.
1. Access to your administration panel
All hosts offer an administration panel, where you can edit the information from your website. This tool is typically used to:
Modify your site settings
Create email accounts
Manage folders
Configure security
Access and get statistics
Keep in mind that hosting services use different management systems but the logic is similar across them all.
One of the most used is Cpanel. We will use it as a basis for our explanation.
2. Access File Manager
From the administration panel, you control all the options on your website. Select the option that allows you to manage and upload files.
3. Upload File
Within the Files Manager, find the option to Upload files.
You can upload your files to your website as if you were uploading an attachment in your email.
If the Campaign is active, it will be visible on your website after you upload the file.
❗️ Please note that if you make the following changes to your Campaign, you must repeat this process, downloading the new HTML and uploading it to your servers:
Edit or create new fields for the Donation Box
Change the cookie consent policy, adding a pixel - e.g. a Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager code
Edit or Add Social Media Share Buttons
FAQ uploading the HTML file to WordPress
If your Campaign will be hosted on WordPress, you must also check:
1. If you are the administrator of your WordPress server:
In this case, the best way to upload the HTML file is to create a URL inside your WordPress server, hosting the Campaign.
Remember to add a CTA (call to action button) that directs users from your WordPress to the URL where you load the Campaign's HTML.
2. If you depend on third parties when managing this service:
If WordPress is not directly managed by you, send the HTML file to the managers and ask them to create the URL and the CTAs.
