With StockCrowd you can add a Social Media share button for Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp to help increase the reach of your Campaign.

Setting up share buttons for Social Media is not only recommended for reaching a greater audience but also for informing social media users of the aims of the campaign.

Depending on the type of Campaign, the buttons will either appear under the donate button or underneath the Donation Box.

❗️P2P campaigns have their own share buttons and the information is taken directly from these campaigns, so there is no need to configure them, they will be available by default.

1. How to Configure the Social Network "Share Buttons"

In order for you to configure the share buttons for your Social Media, go to Settings > Social Networks.

You can set up share buttons for Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.

❗️Remember, once you have applied changes to this section, you will need to refresh the HTML in order to reflect the changes in your live Campaign.

1.1. Facebook

When it comes to adding your Facebook post, you will need to customise the following sections:

  • Title of the post: Here you'll have to add a title that describes your campaign and its purpose, so those who read it can get an idea from it.

  • Text of the post: In this section, you'll need to add what you want the donors to know about your Organisation and/or campaign.

Here you can fully explain the purpose of the campaign and where will the donations go to.

  • Choose an image: Here you have the option to add an image. The images you'll have are the ones that you previously added in the section Header and Footer.

In case you haven't added yours, please check this article to know how to do so.

❗️If you have multiple images, you will be able to select only one of them

As an example, once you have configured all the previous sections, your StockCrowd account should look as follows:

And it would look like this as a Facebook post:

It will include:

  • The link to your Campaign

  • The title previously added

  • A sneak peek of the description

👉 By default, the descriptive text that will be displayed on Facebook will be the text set in the base language of the campaign.

1.2. Twitter

When it comes to Twitter, you can add a small text with the most relevant details about your campaign.

It is recommended that you add text within 280 characters (Twitter's limitation).

📌 We advise you to add the link to your campaign so donors can access it easily through Twitter

Once you have set it up in your StockCrowd account, you should see it as follows:

You will be able to see it on Twitter like the following example:

On Twitter, you'll be able to control who can see it and who can reply, or schedule your post for later.

Besides that, you will be able to add:

  • Images

  • GIF

  • A poll

  • Emojis

1.3. WhatsApp

❗️Please keep in mind that the WhatsApp button will only be visible on your desktop if the WhatsApp Web App is installed since it is not compatible with WhatsApp Web on your browser.

👉 For WhatsApp, the configured text follows the chosen language, but the uploaded thumbnail carries the campaign description in the base language.

For WhatsApp, it is recommended that you add:

  • Description: a brief text describing the purpose of your campaign, and

  • Link to Campaign: add the URL of the campaign, so your contacts can easily access it.

Set your description in your StockCrowd account.:

The description will be displayed in WhatsApp as you set it in your StockCrowd account.

❗️❗️ For a thumbnail of the campaign to load once you share it via WhatsApp, the campaign cover image should not be larger than 300kB.

2. How to update your HTML

It is advised that the configuration of Social Networks should always be done before uploading the campaign's HTML to your website.

When you update the Social Networks settings, the changes are saved only in that section.

After the changes are saved in the Social Network section, you will have to do the following in order to ensure that the changes have been completely saved:

1. Access to Dashboard > Activate Campaigns, where you will have to select the link icon of the campaign.

2. Once you have clicked the icon, a pop-up window will show up, where you will need to click the edit button and, click on Save.

3. Once that is done, a warning will show up, where you will just need to click on "OK" to confirm the operation.
