Fee increase campaigns (campaign type Subscription Fee Landing) let you invite your recurring members to increase their monthly, quarterly or annual contribution in a personalised way. Unlike traditional donation campaigns, which focus on attracting new donors, fee increase campaigns are designed to strengthen the commitment of the members you already have, using personalised URLs that show each person a specific increase proposal.
With this feature you generate tokenised forms in which each member sees personalised amounts, their current fee and increase options tailored to their profile. This lets you manage fee increases at scale through automated mailings.
In this article we explain step by step how to create your first fee increase campaign, set up the increase box, generate your members' personalised URLs and track the increases.
Guide to creating a Fee Increase Campaign
To launch a fee increase campaign you need to create the campaign, set up its content and set up the increase box, which is what each member sees when they open their personalised URL.
Create your campaign
To create a fee increase campaign, go to the Home section of the software and choose the Subscription Fee Landing option in the Choose how you would like to raise funds section.
Once you have chosen the campaign type, fill in the basic details:
Title: the title of your campaign. You can edit it at any time in the General data tab once the campaign is created.
Country: the country that issues the donation certificate. Even if you are not going to issue donation certificates, you still need to choose a country.
Currency: the campaign's base currency. Multi-currency is possible through Campaign Clusters (see Create a Campaign Cluster (Multi-Currency)), but you need to set this base currency first.
Base language: campaigns can be multilingual, but you need to choose a base language and add the translations into the other languages afterwards.
When you have filled in these fields, all the options available for the fee increase campaign will open up.
By default you will land in the General data area, where you can view and edit the fields you have already set:
Edit the title, country and base language you entered when creating the campaign.
Add a short description so your donors know more about your campaign.
Customise the colour of the title and description text.
The General data section of a fee increase campaign is different from that of a traditional form or landing page. Because it generates tokenised forms for members you already have, it does not need a duration or a goal, so its only settings are the ones in the list above.
Content settings
The content of a fee increase campaign is set up in a similar way to a traditional donation landing page or form. In the articles Create a Form Campaign and Create a Landing Campaign we explain in detail the parts of the content section, which are also available in this type of campaign.
Increase box
The increase box of your fee increase campaign is set up in Settings → Increases box.
💡 Unlike other donation campaigns, a fee increase campaign has no real donation box and no payment process. The purpose of the increase box is to capture the member's intention to increase their fee.
The increase box has 5 tabs:
Main screen
Confirmation screen
Gratitude screen
Customize settings
Integration code
Main screen
The main screen of the increase box, set up in the Main screen tab, is the first screen the member sees when they open their personalised URL. In this tab you set up all the texts and messages shown in the increase form.
Fields you can set on the main screen:
Title - main screen: the main heading the member will see.
Description - main screen: the text that invites the member to choose their new contribution.
Current recurring donation message: the text that tells the member their current fee. You can use dynamic variables, for example:
Your current contribution is {{cuota}}{{divisa}} {{periodicidad}}. The dynamic variables are filled in automatically with each member's details.New recurring donation message: the text that confirms the new fee selected. It only appears in the increase box if the member selects a new fee. Example with variables:
Your new contribution is {{nueva_cuota}}{{divisa}} {{periodicidad}}."Stay with my current donation" button: the text of the button the member uses to keep their current fee unchanged.
"I want to change my donation" button: the text of the main action button, which the member uses to confirm the change. Like the new contribution message, it only appears in the increase box if the member selects a new fee.
Increase box when the member keeps their fee:
Increase box when the member increases their fee:
Confirmation screen
The confirmation screen, set up in the Confirmation screen tab, is shown when the member has selected a new fee and needs to verify their identity with a PIN code, if the PIN is switched on. The PIN is switched on or off in the Customize settings tab.
Fields you can set on the confirmation screen:
Title - PIN screen: the heading of the verification screen.
Description - PIN screen: the instructions for the member to complete the verification.
"PIN validation" button: the text of the confirmation button.
Gratitude screen
The thank-you screen, set up in the Gratitude screen tab, is the final screen the member sees once they have successfully confirmed their fee increase.
Fields you can set on the thank-you screen:
Title - thanks screen: the main thank-you message.
Description - thanks screen: the personalised text you use to thank the member for deciding to increase their commitment.
Customize settings
In the Customize settings tab of the increase box you will find the options to customise the look and the security of the increase form.
Fields you can set in Customize settings:
Form color: customise the colour of the buttons and highlighted elements of the form.
Set PIN: a tick box to switch PIN code verification on or off. When it is on, the system sends a verification code to the member's email before confirming the change. It is an extra layer of security you can switch on to prevent unauthorised changes.
Free selection configuration: allows the giver to lower their current fee.
Show current installment button: shows the current instalment as a selectable button, together with a text message stating the current instalment amount.
Integration code
The integration code tab gives you the code you need to embed only the increase box on your own website, without the rest of the campaign content.
Dynamic variables
Fee increase campaigns use a system of dynamic variables that are filled in automatically with the parameters of each member's personalised URL. This gives every member a personalised experience. Personalised URLs are created in Management → Increases, as we explain in the Fee increase management section of this article.
The available dynamic variables are:
{{cuota}}: the current fee the member pays.
{{divisa}}: the currency of the fee (EUR, USD, etc.).
{{nueva_cuota}}: the new fee the member has selected.
{{periodicidad}}: free text field (monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.).
{{nombre}}: the member's name.
{{extradata}}: free text field for additional information.
💡 Example of using dynamic variables: you can personalise the main screen text of the increase box with messages such as "Hello {{nombre}}, thank you for supporting us since {{extradata}}. Your current contribution is {{cuota}} {{divisa}} {{periodicidad}}."
You can use the dynamic variables on the main screen and on the confirmation screen of the increase box.
Fee increase management
In Management → Increases you generate your members' personalised URLs, choose the domain they use and track who has opened their URL and who has confirmed the increase.
Generating personalised URLs
The Management → Increases section brings together the key features of fee increase campaigns. It lets you create a unique link for each member with a specific increase proposal. You can generate the URLs one at a time or in bulk, by importing a CSV file.
Generate an individual URL
To understand how the system works, start by generating a personalised URL for a single member. Go to Management → Increases → Options and select Generate URL.
Then fill in the fields of the individual URL:
Email: the member's email address.
Record ID: the member's unique identifier in your system, if you have one.
Current contribution: required field with the amount the member currently pays. It is used to calculate the additional percentage, if you decide to apply one.
Display current subscription: Yes or No option. It determines whether the form shows the member their current fee.
Increase: the increase amounts you will offer the member. You can set from 1 to 3 different increases. The amounts must be separated by commas, as the example in the field shows.
Free amount: Yes or No option. Switch it on so the member can enter a custom amount.
Percentage: optionally, you can add a percentage that is added to the base amounts and calculated on the current fee. For example, if the current fee is €50 and you add 5%, each increase option goes up by €2.50.
Periodicity: free text describing how often the member pays (monthly, quarterly, annual).
Full name: the member's full name.
Additional information: free field for additional information (for example, the year they joined or their member category).
Language: Select the language.
When you have filled in the fields, click Generate URL. The system creates a unique URL that you can copy and send to the member. When the member opens it, they will see the increase options you have set up specifically for them.
When you generate the individual URL you get:
A URL form, which takes the member to the landing page created for the campaign.
A URL iFrame, which opens a window with only the increase box.
The Parameters, to use on any domain of your organisation.
Generate URLs in bulk with a CSV
As well as individual URLs, you can generate the personalised URLs of many members at once by uploading a CSV file. These are the steps:
Step 1: Download the template
Go to Management → Increases → Options → Download import template (CSV).
Step 2: Fill in the template
The import template is a .txt file in which each column is separated by a semicolon.
Worked example of a completed template:
❗Notes for completing the fee increase import template:
In fields with a Yes or No option, you need to enter S or N.
If you do not want to add a percentage, leave the field empty, as in rows 2, 4 and 5 of the example.
The increases must be separated by commas.
The next step is to generate this file automatically from your CRM, with a script that exports your members' details and writes them from the second row onwards. Always leave the first row as it is so that the file uploads correctly to StockCrowd.
Step 3: Upload the batch
Select the CSV file.
Click File upload. The system will process the records and create the personalised URLs.
Step 4: Export the generated URLs
A file with all the personalised URLs and each member's parameters will be downloaded.
Domains for personalised URLs
The personalised URLs of a fee increase campaign can use different domains depending on your setup:
Default domain: if you do not have a domain pointed to the campaign, the URLs use the platform's standard domain.
Pointed domain: if you have a domain pointed to the campaign, the URLs are generated automatically with that domain.
Your own domain on a hosting service: if you have your own domain on a hosting service that is not pointed to the platform as the campaign URL, copy the token beginning with "T" from the URLs and add it to the URL you have chosen for the campaign.
Fee increase management and tracking
As well as generating the URLs, in Management → Increases you will find detailed information about what each member does with their personalised URL. You can see in real time:
Form access: how many times each member has opened their personalised URL.
Confirmation: whether or not the member has confirmed the increase.
New contribution: the amount the member has chosen.
Signature date: when the change was confirmed.
With this information you can spot members who show interest but have not confirmed the increase, and follow up with them personally through phone calls, reminder emails or alternative proposals. And if you export the updated data as a CSV, you can filter by confirmation status or by number of opens to segment your members and build specific conversion strategies.
Webhook (event) for fee increases
💡 Advanced feature: fee increase campaigns have a specific webhook or event that lets you integrate them directly with your CRM.
When you switch on the webhook integration, all the relevant data is sent automatically when the URL is created and when the member confirms or does not confirm the increase. If you would like to set up this feature, see our article Webhooks (Events) in Stockcrowd.
❓Frequently asked questions
How do I launch the Subscription Fee Landing and which URL do I send to my members?
A Subscription Fee Landing does not have a single URL that you share with all your members: the system generates a personalised URL for each member, with its own token. That way, when each person opens it, they see their name, their current fee and the increase proposals you have set up for them. This is why the campaign URL on its own is not the one you need to send out. To launch the Subscription Fee Landing:
Generate the personalised URLs in Management → Increases → Options. With Generate URL you create them one at a time; with Download import template (CSV) you create them in bulk: you fill in the template with your members' details and upload it as a batch.
Export the URLs with the Generate report (CSV) button. You will get a file with each member's URL.
Send each member their own URL, for example from your mailing tool.
To check that everything works, generate a test URL with your own details (your email, a dummy fee) and open it. If you see the landing page with your details and the increase options, everything is ready for the real send-out.
Can I generate personalised URLs for many members at once?
You can generate personalised URLs in bulk by uploading a CSV file:
Download the template in Management → Increases → Options → Download import template (CSV).
Fill it in with your members' details, leaving the first row as it is.
Upload the batch with a name and click File upload.
Once the batch has been processed, click Generate report (CSV) to download the URLs.
How many increase options can I offer each member?
In the increase field you can offer each member from 1 to 3 different increase amounts, separated by commas. With the Free amount option you can also let the member enter a custom amount.
How does the increase percentage work?
The percentage is optional: it is calculated on the member's current fee and added to the base increase amounts. For example, if the current fee is €50 and you add 5%, each increase option goes up by €2.50.
Can I ask the member to confirm the increase with a PIN?
You can switch on PIN verification in the Customize settings tab of the increase box, with the Set PIN tick box. When it is on, the system sends a verification code to the member's email before confirming the change.
How do I know which members have confirmed the increase?
In Management → Increases you can see in real time the number of opens of each URL, the confirmation status, the new fee selected and the Signature date (the date the change was confirmed). You can also export the data as a CSV and filter by confirmation status or by number of opens.
Can I put only the increase box on my own website?
You can embed only the increase box on your website, without the rest of the campaign content, using the code in the Integration code tab. Each individual URL also has a URL iFrame that opens a window with only the increase box.
Can I send fee increases to my CRM?
You can send fee increase data to your CRM with the specific fee increase webhook (event). It sends the data when the URL is created and when the member confirms or does not confirm the increase. We explain it in Webhooks (Events) in Stockcrowd.
