URL parameters allow you to customize your followers' donation experience. With them you can preselect specific amounts and payment frequencies depending on the context from which they access your donation form.
What are URL Parameters?
URL parameters are elements that you insert in the web address (URL) of your campaign to offer the donor payment options different from those configured by default in your donation box. These parameters allow you to preselect specific amounts and frequencies according to your needs.
Add URL Parameters
To add URL parameters to your campaign, follow these steps:
Access your campaign
Type a question mark "
?" after the end of your campaign's URL in your browser's address barInsert the parameter after the question mark in the address bar with no spaces
Reload the page with the new URL
Practical example: customize the amounts of a one-time donation
If you have configured the following amounts in your donation box:
By inserting the parameter onetime=18,27,89 in your URL, you can offer your donor options with different amounts than those originally configured in the donation box:
The result is that your donor will see these new personalized amount options instead of the ones configured by default:
Add Multiple URL Parameters
You can combine multiple parameters in a single URL by separating them with the "&" symbol. This allows you to preselect both the amount and frequency of the donation.
Access your campaign
Insert the first parameter after the question mark "?"
Insert the "&" symbol
Insert the second parameter
Example: preselect amount and frequency together
By inserting the parameter ?amount=85&frequency=onetime in your URL, you will preselect a one-time donation of €85 for your donor:
This way, your donor will see a one-time donation of €85 preselected when the form loads:
💡 Tip: If you wish to add more parameters, simply repeat the steps using the additional parameters you need, always separating them with the "&" symbol.

How to Use URL Parameters
To use URL parameters, you need to have a StockCrowd campaign and your URL parameters on hand. Once configured, you can apply them to different use cases. Below, we describe two common use cases that will help you optimize your fundraising strategy.
Standard links for quick donations
The easiest way to use URL parameters is through simple links. You can create personalized links with parameters for different donation buttons on your website or in your newsletter.
For example, when a follower clicks the one-time donation button of €30, you will take them to your StockCrowd payment form with €30 pre-selected. If they click the €50 monthly donation button, they will see €50 pre-selected in the monthly donation option.

Target different audiences with personalized offers
You can also be more strategic and use URL parameters to optimize your donation page according to your donors' profile. You can use the same campaign with different parameters to specifically target donors who typically give smaller amounts, as well as more generous contributors.
To do this, use parameters to create two personalized donation links, each tailored to a different audience segment.

❓Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use URL parameters without having a StockCrowd campaign?
No, you need to have an active campaign on StockCrowd to use URL parameters. Parameters only work within the context of your campaign and your configured donation box.
What happens if I use parameters that are not on the available list?
If you use parameters that are not on the list of available URL parameters, they will be ignored and your donation form will be displayed with the default configuration of your donation box.
Can I combine more than two parameters in a single URL?
Yes, you can combine multiple parameters in a single URL by always separating them with the "&" symbol. For example, you can preselect different amounts for each payment frequency, as well as specify which option should be preselected by default.
Does the asterisk "*" in the parameters have any special meaning?
Yes, the asterisk "*" indicates the default value you want to preselect. When a donor accesses your form with a parameter that includes an asterisk, that option will be preselected automatically. For example, in monthly=10,30*,50, the amount of €30 will be preselected for the monthly option.
Do URL parameters work on mobile devices?
Yes, URL parameters work perfectly on mobile devices. When you share a link with parameters through your newsletter, social networks or any other channel, the parameters will remain active regardless of the device from which your donor accesses it.
