Once you understand what StockCrowd Pay is and have activated it in your account, you can use it as the payment gateway in your campaigns. In this article we explain how StockCrowd Pay works within your campaign, which payment methods you can offer your donors and how to change their order or hide them.
On the Light, Esencial and Profesional plans, StockCrowd Pay is the only payment gateway available, unless you add the multi-gateway feature as an extra.
The Premium plan includes the multi-gateway feature, so you can use other gateways. StockCrowd Pay is also an option on Premium if you don't need to work with several payment gateways.
How to set up StockCrowd Pay in your campaign
To use StockCrowd Pay in your campaign, all you need in StockCrowd is to have your Stripe keys set up, and those keys are filled in automatically when you complete the StockCrowd Pay sign-up (we explain the sign-up process in Activate StockCrowd Pay in your account). In your campaign's payment gateway settings, the Stripe block shows the message "Stripe account has been set up correctly", along with the Public Key, the Private Key and the Date.
All StockCrowd Pay payment methods are active by default in StockCrowd. What you do need to do is activate in Stripe the methods you want to show your donors (we explain this in the next section).
Payment methods you can offer with StockCrowd Pay
With StockCrowd Pay you can offer your donors these payment methods. For them to show in your campaign, you need to set them up or activate them in Stripe, from your Stripe Dashboard (see Manage your Stripe Dashboard):
Debit or credit card
SEPA debit
Wallet (Google Pay and Apple Pay)
Bank Transfer
OXXO
Bacs Direct Debit
ACH Direct Debit
❗️Whether a StockCrowd Pay payment method shows and works in your campaign always depends on Stripe allowing you to have it available or activate it in your Stripe account. Permissions can vary, for example for payments in other currencies, so always check with Stripe.
The payment methods available depend on whether the donation is one-off or recurring:
Payment method | One-off donations | Recurring donations |
Debit or credit card | ✅ | ✅ |
SEPA debit | ✅ | ✅ |
Wallet | ✅ | ✅ |
Bank Transfer | ✅ | ❌ |
OXXO | ✅ | ❌ |
Bacs Direct Debit | ❌ | ✅ |
ACH Direct Debit | ❌ | ✅ |
Debit or credit card
With a debit or credit card, the donor enters their card number and the rest of their card details so the donation can go through. It works for one-off and recurring donations.
SEPA debit
With SEPA debit, the donor enters their bank details and, through Stripe, the system sends the instruction to the bank. The payment is made once the instruction is approved. It works for one-off and recurring donations.
More information in Stripe's documentation on SEPA Direct Debit.
Wallet
With Wallet, the donor can pay with Google Pay or Apple Pay: after clicking the payment button, they need to authorise the payment. Google Pay and Apple Pay work if the donor has this payment method set up on their device, on both computers and mobile devices. It works for one-off and recurring donations.
More information in Stripe's documentation on wallets.
❗️Wallet payments (Google Pay and Apple Pay) are not compatible with Peer-to-Peer (P2P) campaigns.

Bank transfer with StockCrowd Pay is only available for one-off donations.

👉 With StockCrowd Pay, donors can also choose to cover StockCrowd's software costs (not Stripe's fee) with the tip, which you turn on with the Enable 'Donor Covers Fee' on this campaign option. To find out more, see Allow Donors to cover Campaign fees - Tipping (StockCrowd Pay only).
How to display payment methods in your campaign
Once StockCrowd Pay is set up, you can change how payment methods are shown to your donors: change their order or hide the ones you don't want to appear in the Donation box. There are two lists: Order of payment methods in one-off transactions and Order of payment methods in recurring transactions. Each list includes all the payment methods available in the system; the ones that finally appear on the payment form depend on your campaign's settings.
Change the order of payment methods
To change the order of the payment methods, select the method you want and drag it to the position you want.
Hide a payment method
To hide a payment method from the Donation box, click the eye icon for that method. When you show it again, StockCrowd displays a warning reminding you to check that the payment method is available in your Stripe account: if it isn't, the donor's payment attempt won't go through.
