❗️Please note that these are general instructions on how to use Stripe, prepared by Stockcrowd's Support team.
For detailed information on how to use your Stripe Account, we advise you to contact Stripe's support team at [email protected] .
Stripe and Stockcrowd
To connect Stripe to Stockcrowd, you must first create a Stripe account.
You have 2 options to do that:
Stockcrowd PAY (recommended): You can create a Stockcrowd PAY account if you are in the Starter, Scale or Premium plans.
Stripe direct integration: if you have a Premium plan.
In both cases, the infrastructure used to process the donations is the same: Stripe's.
That means that the access to your Stripe account and Dashboard will be the same.
If you haven't activated Stripe or Stockcrowd PAY in your account yet, you can check these guides, and come back to this article when you are ready:
Stripe Dashboard and its main pages
1. Home and Reports Overview
Once you access your Stripe account, you will find in the Home Tab the overview of your Stripe account's information.
We recommend using the Home tab to quickly gain insight into your donations.
❗️The example below is one of the possibilities of display for the overview of your account. You can customise it to fit your preferences. For more information on how to do it, please contact Stripe's support team at [email protected] .
You can see the gross volume of payments, and use the filters to have accurate reports on the data you need to review.
Home provides useful at-a-glance information about the activity on your account. A wide range of real-time charts provide insight into the performance of your Campaigns.
1.1. Today
This section gives you a snapshot of your key metrics.
You can apply the filter Today to view your current Stripe balance (in your chosen currency) and debits.
For example, you can use Today to quickly assess the following metrics:
Gross volume: The total sales value. This number doesn’t include costs like fees, refunds, and disputes.
New customers (donors): The total number of new donors, including those who are no longer active.
Successful payments: The total number of successful payments from donors.
Net volume: The estimated revenue from payments after fees, refunds, disputes, and Connect transfers have been deducted.
Connect gross volume: The total sales value from connected accounts. This number doesn’t include costs like fees, refunds, and disputes.
1.2. Your Overview
It lets you quickly access important business insights. Customise it by adding widgets that capture payment, customer (donor), invoice, and subscription information, among other things.
1.3. Notifications
Home displays a notification whenever there’s a critical action you must perform, including payments for review, disputes to resolve, and items that are overdue.
2. Payments
Access the Payments tab to see all the donations you have received.
You can also browse through the different tabs, to review each donation according to the Status of the payment:
All: You will find in this view all the donations that have been processed by Stripe, regardless of the status (as explained below).
Succeded: Donations that were fully completed.
Refunded: Donations that you have chosen to refund.
Uncaptured: Donations that are pending authorization, or something that prevents it from being completed.
Failed: Donations that could not be processed.
❗️ The most common failed cases are when the Credit card details are incorrect, the expiry date has been reached, or the donor/bank has blocked the operation.
We advise you to contact the donor in those cases, to solve the situation if possible.
2.1. View more details of a Donation
To see more details about a specific donation, you can hover on top of the status:
Or click on the 3 dots on the right side, and choose the option View payment details.
This will redirect you to a page showing all the details of that Donation. Please keep in mind that you might be required to go through the double authentication again at this step.
❗️ We recommend checking the Refunded, Uncaptured and Failed tabs to understand why the donations did not come through, and contact these donors if you wish.
2.2. Process a refund in Stripe
If you need to refund a donor for some reason, you can easily do it through your Stripe Dashboard.
To do so, you must:
Find the charge to be refunded on the Payments overview page.
Click the ••• icon to the right of the charge and select Refund charge.
Enter the amount to be refunded. The default is a full refund. For a partial refund, enter a different amount to be refunded.
Select a reason for the refund. If you select Other, you must provide an explanatory note that is attached to the refund.
Click Refund.
Stripe submits refunds to your donor’s bank immediately.
However, depending on the bank's processing time, it can take from 5-10 business days to show up in your donor’s bank account.
3. Customers (Donors)
Access the Customers tab to find the list of your Donors, and review their transactions.
3.1. Find a Donor
If you need to find a specific customer or transaction, you can use the filters in this section to easily look for them:

3. Look for the Donor in the listing.
3.2. Review payments from a Donor

Besides the overview of the balance in your Stripe account, you can also view:

To do so, you must access the Settings > Business Settings > Bank Accounts and currencies section of this page.
Select this option, and you will be led to a page to customise how you will receive your payouts:
